I'm turning on public commenting to my weblog. Let's see how that works. It isn't that people had not been able to comment, but it required being a member of NCN and logging in first. Part of my reservation about public commenting is that, with the current software here, it means that one essentially can post anonymously. But, if too much junk happens, I guess I'll just have to make a more easy and quick way of registering.

Commenting works fine for a bunch of blogs I'm reading, and actually supports and expands on the subject matter. So, maybe there's nothing to be afraid of.

Hi Ming!

I've recently met Jon Husband who said I should email you about helping out with Xpertweb. I've been trying to figure out how my programming and blog expertise (or E-xact's where I am contracting) as well as our new blog company can fit in.

I'll let you know when I do (and let us know if you figure it out!). In the meantime I'll keep checking out your blog and if you are ever in Vancouver or Seattle, let's get together!

Hi Roland. Well, let's talk more. We certainly need programming expertise. But also just some common sense in putting together some data structures and protocols. The idea is that we'll each store some structured files on our server, describing services we offer, and there will be some P2P protocols for how to access those, and for how carry out a transaction. And the idea is that we need to get the initial structure designed well enough so that it can be a viral thing from then on. I.e. something that other can tinker with, and that it is fun to build on top of.

1 May 2003 @ 13:23 by lugon : ming.tv page so slow it doesn't display
Hi
ming.tv page loads very slowly - they tell me.
I haven't even manage to see it for at least a week.
Does it have anything to do with the "now people can comment" changes?
Thanks!
Lucas

No, it shouldn't have anything to do with that. But I do notice it is a bit slower recently, even for me. I guess I'll look more closely at whether it is anything in particular, or there's just a lot of stuff here.

1 May 2003 @ 14:41 by lugon @80.58.19.109 : slow isn't bad if worth it, and it is
Just managed to read your articles about "multitasking" and "disperse".
I agree. Future shock. My priorities or their priorities? We all have 24 hours a day - some of that time is free or can be freed. So we can have ourselves.

Just like "free software" doesn't exist (it's people who is free or not free), "free time" doesn't exist either. Take *your* time.

Hm, maybe I should change my layout, or cut down the number of days I show, since some of you are having problems seeing it. Right now it is in tables, and I should probably figure out a CSS layout instead.
