So, now we're in France. Just being jetlagged and taking it easy for a couple of days. Leaving was rather hectic. And tomorrow we'll start playing tourists a bit and get around to meeting some people. We're staying in little apartment in a hotel for a couple of weeks, and renting a car for the same time, and within that time it hopefully becomes clear where we'd actually want to live, exactly. But so far so good. Our luggage and our cats survived the journey. I only have a dial-up connection here, but that's better than nothing.

Have fun playing tourists. Sorry to hear you are on Dial-Up but what you said is true, "that's better than nothing". A computer nerd without a network connection is like a race car driver without a car. But then again a computer nerd with a dial up connection is like a race car driver with a moped. Ha, Ha, Ha... have a great, adventurous week.

Ming, I have been following your web talk for quite some time. It all makes sense leaveing LA et all. Time is all important. I hope that you are able to take the time to pick the plce you feel good about. Restaurants count a lot. Call it home. i can't imagine a nicer place to live. Sothern Europe has to be a lot better than the "Land of Plenty" At least they have bike paths.

Well, come by and see us some time.

I don't know if excitement is the right word. This feels right, and this is a magical area. But it is probably something we'll grow into gradually.

17 Jul 2003 @ 09:56 by Jon Husband @216.113.202.103 : Orienteering - Cyberspace in France
Hey there - cyberspace follows you. I imagine it will be quite interesting to adjust your "head space" to the state of things interconnected in France/western Europe.

You know about Emmanuelle.net - lots of interesting links at the bottom of her right-hand sidebar that may help you situate the "lay of the land" so to speak in France. Via one of those links I came across a site listing all the French politicians and candidates who have an on-line presence/capability.

Guess what? It's called "Democratie-Electronique" (Electronic Democracy). Nothing like cutting to the chase - those French, eh (chuckle). here's the link:
http://www.democratie-electronique.org/polit_int/candid.htm

Enjoy, you lucky dog (and family).
