I suddenly have a bit more work again. I had just started getting busy on getting organized businesswise, putting together stuff I can market, and then, bing, one of my old clients upped my contract this week. I'm sure it is connected, even if not directly. Unfortunately that now means I'm lying flat out getting on top of a lot of servers. That's not by far my favorite work. Different lifestyle. 24/7 having to make sure that a large numbers of servers are doing what they're supposed to be doing. That means always being close to cell phones and pagers and Internet connections, and sometimes having to be woken up to deal with some problem. I haven't exactly missed that. But it means more money, at least for a while, which will allow me to get some basic things in order. And hopefully I can channel the energy towards getting some other things going that are more enjoyable and viable in the long run. And hopefully my blogging won't suffer too much.

I wonder if there is truth in the theory "when it rains it pours". I have been doing nothing for months, suddenly when I decide to get serious about a project, 3 offers from various places came in the same week. Now I donlt know what to do because I can;t do them all.

I think that when you put attention on something, you feed energy to it. If you organize towards something or take steps towards something, you make it more likely that it will happen, or that it will come to you. But not necessarily in the form that you expected.

And, yeah, I notice that things somehow tend to happen in waves. Which, I'm sure, is not just based on what we individually do. Different things are in the air at different times. Sometimes times are just right for certain things to start flowing. And sometimes everything just seems stuck for no good reason.

checks could start showing up in my mailbox?

I'll try it, and let you know how it works.

Thanks.

I kind of think it works that way. Or, rather, if you sharpen your tools, make room for new activities, and oil the front door - things are more likely to happen.

Glad to hear that you'll get some more money - that way you can keep on making your great contributions to all of us for longer, and we can all learn more.
