Hm, I didn't get around to saying anything about the Reboot conference, and it is already a month ago.

As usual, a great event, an opportunity to hang out with smart creative people, and lots of stimulating concepts. I wish I had had a few weeks afterwards to actually act on the ideas that came up. See some of the videos here.

I did a presentation called "The art of not-doing". The proposal is here. It went in a somewhat different direction than the proposal, though. I ended up using only the first 20 minutes for my actual presentation, and the last 20 minutes for a group Dialogue. That was an experiment. The talk was essentially to stimulate/inspire/provoke a certain state of openness, then followed by the type of Dialogue, à la David Bohm, where one sits together, quietly, mindfully, and one speaks when something actually needs to be said. I think it worked out well.

My slides can be found at Slideshare. But since the slides only give half the story without the actual speech, there's now also an e-book version, which explains things more than the slides, so it better can stand alone. Thanks to Toothless Tiger Press

As I usually try to stuff a lot into a small space, I might well expand on some of the themes I touched upon in upcoming postings here.

Page 33 sounds an awful lot like a typical Quaker meeting. "Most meetings are unprogrammed. That is, they are held in silence. Attendees speak when moved to do so". [link]

Flemming, How are you? I made a 10-minute video summary of my life's work in philosophy, my quest to know everything and apply that knowledge usefully. I'm happy with it as the basics of knowing everything. [link]

That's very impressive, Andrius. I've been thinking of getting into video and you're inspiring me. I like how you used the video content to interplay with or contrast with the presentation layer and your words.

3 Sep 2009 @ 20:05 by Andrius Kulikauskas @88.119.249.72 : I'm glad you saw it!
Flemming, I'm glad you saw it. It was great to have my life's quest come together. I'm living in the village of Dukiskes, Lithuania with Zenonas Anusauskas [link] and his family and he has an Internet TV station and encouraged me to start filming. What was great was it was very quick. For the video I filmed different visual ideas as they came up (like the day my friend Rimas cooked the live fish and they were flopping around in the store and I thought to film that and the rest). It took one day to edit all the video (the 10 minute length limitation was nice). And then I spent a few days writing the text, independently, cramming everything in. And the amazing thing is that they go together very well even though they were basically distinct works. So my theory is that if you express an idea with a narrative line (whether video, music, text, poem, etc.) and you just lay down the lines alongside each other, then they will magically resonate on their own without any kind of calculation (or you can adjust 5% but 95% is done). Especially if one appreciates the "mistakes" and makes good use of them, for example, I was filming myself making the model of my statue and I didn't realize that the sun would set into the camera but that worked out so beautifully but it was an accident or even a disaster, depending on how you look at it. So this kind of movie making is great because it's comparatively effortless. You're a wonderful writer and thinker and I imagine artist and so it's exciting what you will create.

I like that kind of thing. Where you put things together that really were separate creations, but then they turn out to fit together fine after all. Surprising juxtapositions can be a very good thing.

6 Sep 2009 @ 23:15 by a-d : Thanks for the
Quaker link!
What you are working with, so to speak, Andrius, is (GENUINE) SPONTANEITY!!... allowing LIFE to happen and do Its creation through you!! That is to be a true Co-Creator with Life!.... as we all are EXPECTED to be/come! Congrats!

8 Sep 2009 @ 19:28 by Andrius Kulikauskas @88.119.249.72 : Thursday Chat
Ming, A-d, Great! Thank you for your encouragement. I invite you to our Thursday chat, September 10, 15:00 Central European time, [link] we're thinking how to use a text-to-jpg converter [link] to easily publish books so they can be read on DVD players (text but perhaps along with photos, audio, video, music - the juxtaposition synchronicity logic may come up) and especially for local languages (like Kiswahili, Hindi, Lithuanian). Also, I invite you to write about your life dream for our Economy of Dreams [link] see also [link]

12 Sep 2009 @ 04:54 by a-d : ...though this...
maybe is a little "on the side" of our topics, but it is soooo mind blowing and fascinating so I wan to share it with you Andrius , your friends and all of us here on NCN.

I'm posting all this, inspired by your "Economy of Dreams" which seems quite interesting and I love the idea that "regular" people are writing from their Heart, what is happening in their world, how to make life what they know it to be possible etc etc. I will indeed write something there soon!
I did miss the Chat... I don't even know if I had been able to join!.... anyhoo, why don't you A (or Anybody who joined )tell us what was said?

13 Sep 2009 @ 20:13 by a-d : Fresh from our very own Heidi!
Yes!... Heidi sent this to me today. We chat every so often and ponder Life's mysteries together... This Transformation that so many of us feel is felt by billions I dare to guess. this link would certainly support that.
