I love these posters from Despair.inc. They pretend to be a cynic anti-thesis to those motivational posters many companies have hanging around. But these are so cleverly written that they're really only cynic at the first glance, but when you actually grok them, they're really much more inspiring and motivating than the "real" thing.

At my previous job I sometimes had to go to the Belgacom buildings in Brussels (main Belgian telco), and they had these 'real' inspiration posters up. Only, after having seen the demotivator version, these things inspired nothing but pity and mockery in me :-)

I checked out the link and spent quite some time there going through all of their posters.
The "Teamwork" displayed above reminded me of a name I had envisioned, as a teenager, for a rock group...it was going to be called "Chrome Snowball." I still haven't figured out the significance of the name but it has always stuck with me.

But how do you shift the course of an avalanche or rolling snow ball?
I love the concept of the harmless flakes working together!! I can not find the link right now but Dr Emoto from Japan has developed a way to take images (Haddo) of water crysals and the beauty and divinity inherent in a perfect microcluster of water (The basic pattern of a snow flake!!!) is the "Star of David" and that is the divine expressing its intelligence for us in the here and now. OHH the confusion of divine revelation, absolute delight and insight!!

Oh and by the way, I love the image Ming.

yah, I emailed a few of them around to my other Team Leads and we all got a good chuckle.. I like procastination

"hardwork pays off in the long run, but procrastination pays off right NOW!!!""

a good anti-dote to the fuzzy-feeling motivational posters

Oh ok, I thought I read a dclisaimer they put on the main page stating the choices weren't their favorite 30 shoes; but the 30 shoes they felt were the most compelling. People online are never happy. lool
