This guy is working on building his own house in a hobbit hole constructed out of concrete pipes. Well, I've always had a fantasy about having an underground house, but maybe not quite like that.

I always thought a missle silo might a good place to try a co-housing project, they usualy are conected to land and are pre equiped with many convertible features. I would build a large green house over the entrance/s, some complexes for sale have muliple silos and underground domes, and are big enough for hundreds of apartments.....

If it at all possible I am going to attempt to build a hobbit hole in Maine. By the year 2007 I should have the finincial ability to do so. As long as i can get one built for under $250,000... Ever since the movie i have been intrigued at the idea of a custom "bermed" home having the same features as the one seen in Lord Of The Rings. Someone need to build a website dedicated to this idea so we can all collaborate, share ideas and such.

I am interested in hearing from anyone who is or has attempted building a hobbit house with concrete pipes. We are looking into the cost, but would like hearing what others have found.
