According to this entry from Times, film-maker James Cameron is going to announce that the tomb of Jesus and Mary Magdalene and their son has been identified in Jerusalem.
Let's go back 27 years, when Israeli construction workers were gouging out the foundations for a new building in the industrial park in the Talpiyot, a Jerusalem suburb. of Jerusalem. The earth gave way, revealing a 2,000 year old cave with 10 stone caskets. Archologists were summoned, and the stone caskets carted away for examination. It took 20 years for experts to decipher the names on the ten tombs. They were: Jesua, son of Joseph, Mary, Mary, Mathew, Jofa and Judah, son of Jesua.

..Film-makers Cameron and Jacobovici claim to have amassed evidence through DNA tests, archeological evidence and Biblical studies, that the 10 coffins belong to Jesus and his family.

..Cameron is holding a New York press conference on Monday at which he will reveal three coffins, supposedly those of Jesus of Nazareth, his mother Mary and Mary Magdalene. News about the film, which will be shown soon on Discovery Channel, Britain's Channel 4, Canada's Vision, and Israel's Channel 8, has been a hot blog topic in the Middle East
That's tomorrow. Of course, what we're talking about is essentially the trailer for a film documentary. But I think it would be great fun if he really has some kind of proof that would stand.

I read about this find a couple days ago. The contention in the dna evidence, how do they know? Well a few years ago I ran across an old artical, like from the mid 30s-40s, Hitler was looking for the spear of destiny, and that the spear suposedly still had the blood of Jesus on it. This seems to me to be the place where Jesus's dna could be found, proving either way if those bones are from the same dna. Since the argument seems to be, where they got the sample to compaire with the bones in the first place. All Hitler needed to know is what blood type Jesus was, and then go from there, looking for Jesus's blood line within the general population. Will the movie reveal the sorce dna? I dont think the powers that be, would allow the population to know they are decended from Jesus.

Yeah, since all those things, the sacred lance, splinters of the cross, etc, are rather iffy, there's nothing good to compare with. And the whole thing of what the historical Jesus was about is altogether very fuzzy.

And if Jesus had children, and they had children, then, statistically speaking, we'd more or less all be descendants. Let me see, 4 generations per century, for 20 centuries, that would be something like 2 to the 80th ancestors I'd have back then. Which ideally speaking is 1,208,925,819,614,629,174,706,176, which of course isn't possible. But I suppose that means we're all pretty much the same family, including Jesus and Adolf Hitler.

Thats like saying we all have some anciant chinees guy in us. I dont think one families blood line could make it into everyone, every race. Now I spose its posable Jesus could of had some sort of mixed dna that we all might have, not that dna should have anything to do with an individual's spirit or abilities, but sometimes it does.

26 Feb 2007 @ 20:35 by b : James Cameron's documetary
is already rocking the world and it won't be shown in America ujntil 4 march.
Almadinejad or Iran already has the 10th inman, the mahdi who is the Muslim messiah ready to go. The self proclaimed reincarnated Jesus Christ is here and on tv. We do live in interesting times.

I was just watching some clips on Discovery's {link:http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/tomb/tomb.html|page}, with the Israeli director. I guess Cameron is the producer. Sounds interesting. Quite down to earth, and not terribly sensationalist, but it sounds like they have some interesting new angles.
