The box contained a camera, which took a picture every ten seconds, recording its journey through the postal system. The 6,994 images were later made into a slide show. linkThat's interesting. Not that it is that interesting to see the inside of various postal vans, but because it evokes the idea that objects might be able to record their journeys and their history. Sooner or later cameras and GPS tracking and wireless access will cost nothing. Or, rather, it will be cheap enough that you easily could apply them to any package you send, or to most objects you own. Pretty much anything can eventually have a full history of where it has been and what happened. |
